Country music cherishes family tradition and Michael Twitty is an integral part of that great heritage. He is the oldest son of rock and country legend Conway Twitty. Born November 25 in Helena Arkansas, Michael is not only carrying on his father’s celebrated legacy, he is making a mark of his own. Although Michael Twitty spent much of his early life following the footsteps of his father and other musical greats. But by age eight Michael found himself under the spotlight on stage with his legendary father. Michael knew right then that this was where he wanted to spend the rest of his life.
To Michael Twitty, entertaining an audience has become just as easy as having a conversation with friends. Michael truly possesses a rare ability to reach out and establish a very special relationship with his fans. As did Conway, Michael can take an audience inside the music. His infectious energy, tremendous vocal ability, and timely wit positively keep audiences on the edge of their seat for the entire performance and on their feet at the close of his show.
Michael Twitty has taken his show around the world several times, from the dynamic “Michael Twitty Show”, to the critically acclaimed “Memories of Conway Show”, to the remarkable “Twitty Bird Show”. Recently, Michael has been taking his “Memories of Conway” show to various casinos and theaters around the country. Michael takes you down memory lane, while he shares his thoughts of his Dad in story and song. He will make you laugh, make you cry, and he will definitely entertain you.
Charlie Rich, Jr.
The name speaks for itself. His father, (dubbed by many as "The Silver Fox"), is considered one of country music's greatest influences to this day.
Charlie Rich, Jr. was raised in the midst of this dawning social musical exuberance. Rich was influenced by such diverse components of popular music as his (Godfather), boisterous rock and roller Jerry Lee Lewis, as well as other SUN Studio rockabilly pioneers, Billy Lee Riley, Carl Mann, and Sonny Burgess and the Legendary Pacers, as well as the subsequent British Invasion rockers, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Yardbirds, and The Zombies. Later he turned to acts such as Roxy Music, Jimi Hendrix, Cluster and Brian Eno for inspiration.
While living in Los Angeles, Charlie established himself as an innovative keyboard player, vocalist and composer. His credits include albums with Smokey Robinson, (Grammy Award winners) The Texas Tornados, The Laws Family, and the "King of Tex-Mex" - Freddy Fender.
Upon returning to Memphis in 1998, Charlie Rich, Jr. put together a touring band to back him. The following year, Charlie was honored to receive the prestigious Sam Phillips Award for Best Newcomer of 1999, presented by the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences.
In 2000, Charlie Jr moved to Nashville, where he continues to write, record, and perform. He is a member of Leroy Van Dyke's Country Gold Tour, which includes country superstars such as Bobby Bare, T. Graham Brown, Moe Bandy, Bill Anderson, Jett Williams, and Rex Allen Jr.
On December 10th, 2016, Charlie Rich, Jr. was inducted into the International Rockabilly Hall of Fame.
